Medical Director

JOB SUMMARY:

The Medical Director responsible for leading and managing efficiently and effectively the operational, clinical and support services of the medical team assigned to the facility. Reporting to the COO, the Medical Director is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the medical strategic and operational plans of the asset and monitoring its overall performance to ensure provision of highest quality of patient care in line with MH and DOH/DHA policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.

KEY DECISIONS THE ROLE MAKES AND THE EXTENT OF THE IMPACT OF THE DECISION

·        Takes decisions on areas including but not limited to asset’s budgets, people, financial and other resources in

·        alignment with the established Delegation of Authority (DoA).

·        Makes asset wide decisions with regards to the medical strategies, frameworks, procedures and policies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

Business Strategy:

·        Oversees the development and refinement of the asset’s medical strategies, operational plans and initiatives and continuously monitors the asset’s overall performance to ensure achievement of MH’s strategic goals and directions.

·        Ensures adequate medical/clinical performance management mechanisms are in place to deliver highest quality of patient care.

·        Provides support, advice and direction on issues that have a strategic impact on the asset’s business performance.

·        Guides the development and implementation of long-term operational and financial plans to support the asset’s overall strategy and growth
